Short description of academic background and professional career
Ive Verdoodt received an MA in linguistics and literary theory from Ghent University, where he works as a research assistant at the Department of Education. In 2004 he finished his doctoral dissertation on the representation of the literacy myth in the movies, and received his Ph.D. in Pedagogical Sciences from the same university.
His teaching and research interests include cultural studies in/of education, cultural representations of education, images of literacy, arts & cultural education, and the media violence debate.
